LAMPUNG - Closing the third quarter of 2019, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) will work on a new mega project on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra. Collaborating with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) (ASDP), PT Indonesia Tourism Development (Persero) (ITDC), and the Lampung Provincial Government, Hutama Karya will officially participate in the development of an integrated tourism area in the Bakauheni region, South Lampung.
Located in the Main Meeting Room of the Lampung Governor's Office, today (19/10) Hutama Karya's management officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) "Development of Integrated Tourism Regions in the Bakauheni Region, South Lampung". The signing was carried out between the Managing Director of Hutama Karya, Bintang Perbowo and the Governor of Lampung Province, Arinal Djunaidi; Plt. Regent of South Lampung, Nanang Ermanto; ASDP President Director, Ira Puspadewi; and ITDC Managing Director, Abdulbar M. Mansoer.
In his remarks, the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi said that the development of an integrated tourism area in South Lampung could make Bakauheni an alternative destination besides the city of Bandung, especially for residents of the capital to spend weekends or long holidays. "Our hope is that this integrated tourism area will not only be a charm for foreign tourists, but also increase the interest of local tourists for a vacation here. South Lampung has become a complete tourist base because we have beautiful nature, charming beaches, conservation, until the famous Siger Tower, "said Arinal explained.
Development This tourism area has the Bakauheni Harbor City concept where the development area is located before the entrance gate of the Bakauheni Selatan toll road. This project has a vision of To Establish Bakauheni Harbor City with the positioning of Transforming A Gateway Into A Vibrant Waterfront Destination and is predicted to be the next Resort World Sentosa in Indonesia.
The Main Director of Hutama Karya, Bintang Perbowo said that Hutama Karya fully supports the synergy of BUMN and the local provincial government to realize the development of this integrated tourism area. "We have enough land around the Bakauheni port which is 91ha wide, then the Lampunng Provincial Government is 14.8ha, and the ASDP is 69ha. Of course if this land can be developed and managed properly through strong synergy between SOEs and the Provincial Government, Indonesia's dream to have a world-class integrated tourism area will be realized soon, ”Bintang explained on the sidelines of the signing of the MoU.
The presence of Bakauheni Harbor City with a number of edutainments that provide entertainment as well as education, ease of transportation routes, and accommodation will certainly bring great benefits and new attractiveness for the people of Indonesia and abroad because it comes with international standard concepts and planning and is in a very strategic area. "This will also have a tremendous impact on us in Hutama Karya and the community because we have the Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar toll road so we will get traffic from the many tourists who enter Indonesia, but we also provide them with convenient transportation routes (toll roads) to be able to lead directly towards Bakauheni Harbor City, "Bintang continued.
As additional information, this project raises a fresh concept and has a special attraction for the people of Indonesia and can even attract tourists from abroad because it transforms the area before entering the South Bakauheni toll gate into a seaside destination filled with enthusiasm and new energy that has an impact positive from various aspects for the people of Indonesia. Hutama Karya will not only be the executor / contractor in the work of this project but also the developer of the Zone. Later, the District positioning area is planned to consist of Accommodation and Leisure (Marina & Property, Convention / Exhibition, Waterfront Resort), Attractions & Transport Hub (Flower Hill, Glamping & Hotels, Siger Science Center, Theme Park / Outbound), and Amenities & Residential (Residential, Green School, Hospital & Mixed Use).
