Jakarta, 27 September 2026 – Excitement for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 is growing among the public. With 12 days remaining until race week, the Giant Helmet of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 made its appearance at the Bundaran HI area in Jakarta on Sunday (27 September), coinciding with a Fun Walk event during Jakarta’s Car Free Day (CFD).
The presence of the Giant Helmet is part of the Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 series of activities, bringing the MotoGP atmosphere closer to the people of Jakarta. This activation invites the public to experience the excitement leading up to the world-class motorcycle racing event, which will take place on 9–11 October 2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
The Giant Helmet, displayed at one of Jakarta’s iconic public spaces, serves as a symbol of the Indonesian people's enthusiasm in welcoming the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026. This activation also provides an opportunity to invite the public to join in celebrating Mandalika and supporting Indonesian riders competing on the world stage.
The widespread public interest in MotoGP is also reflected in its media reach and audience. Based on data from Dorna Sports cited in the MGPA Yearbook, the number of MotoGP viewers through broadcast media in Indonesia reached 2,956,333. The broadcast audience in Indonesia was predominantly male, accounting for 60 percent, with the main age group ranging from 20 to 54 years.
These figures demonstrate MotoGP's extensive reach across various media and digital channels, while also highlighting the considerable public interest in this world-class motorcycle racing event.
Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 Chairman and ITDC Director of Operations, Troy Warokka, said that the Giant Helmet's presence in Jakarta is part of the effort to bring the spirit of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia closer to communities across Indonesia.
“We want the spirit of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 to be felt not only in Mandalika but also among people throughout Indonesia. The Giant Helmet at Bundaran HI is a symbol that we are approaching a major event. According to Troy, this public enthusiasm is growing in line with the approaching Race Week. Preparations for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 have now entered their final stages.
Event Readiness reaches 95 percent. With 12 days remaining, preparations for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 have reached 95 percent. Preparations have now entered the final-check stage to ensure that all aspects of the event are delivered according to target ahead of race week.
These preparations cover various aspects of event delivery, including the circuit and race operations, transportation and connectivity, security, healthcare, accommodation, spectator services, and community involvement.
Previously, direct inspections of circuit readiness and supporting facilities were also carried out through a track inspection involving relevant stakeholders. This process forms part of the preparations for FIM Grade A homologation, which is scheduled for 8 October 2026.
On the race operations side, 400 marshals have been prepared to support the race and will undergo training from 5–8 October 2026. To support spectator mobility, 118 shuttle buses have been prepared for transportation within the venue from 9–11 October 2026, supplemented by 35 shuttle buses provided by the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government for transportation outside the venue.
Meanwhile, for security arrangements, 170 security personnel and 550 crowd control personnel have been prepared and will work in an integrated manner with relevant stakeholders. Medical readiness also includes medical personnel and equipment, a medical helicopter, referral services, and provisions for a VIP Mini ICU.
Ticket demand continues to grow as race week approaches, public enthusiasm for attending the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 in person at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit continues to increase.
The first phase of special tickets for holders of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) ID cards has sold out, while the second phase of sales has opened to provide broader opportunities for NTB residents to watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 live.
Meanwhile, ticket sales for the general public have entered the regular pricing period. Members of the public who wish to experience the world-class racing atmosphere in Mandalika are encouraged to secure their tickets soon before their preferred categories sell out.
