The Mandalika, September 28, 2026 – Ahead of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, scheduled for October 9–11, 2026, PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), together with the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), conducted a Security and Contingency Simulation for Operation Mandalika Rinjani-2026 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, The Mandalika, on Monday (September 28).
The simulation formed part of the finalization of security preparations ahead of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026. It tested inter-agency coordination, personnel readiness, supporting facilities and equipment, as well as response mechanisms for various situations that may arise during the event.
A total of 908 police personnel participated in the security simulation, supported by 51 vehicles and pieces of equipment, including operational security vehicles and ambulances.
During the simulation, several security scenarios were demonstrated to assess personnel readiness in handling situations ranging from normal conditions to contingency scenarios. These included crowd management, security and public order disturbances, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and responses to contingency situations within the event area.
Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and ITDC Operations Director, Troy Warokka, stated that the security simulation was an essential part of ensuring The Mandalika's readiness as a destination hosting an international event with high visitor mobility.
“The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is an international-scale event that requires comprehensive preparation, not only in terms of race operations but also security, safety, mobility, and visitor services. This simulation is an important part of finalizing those preparations to ensure that the entire event runs safely and comfortably. We continue to strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders leading up to the event,” he said.
The Chief of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Kalingga Rendra Raharja, S.E., M.H., stated that the simulation was intended to ensure that all security units were ready to implement the security procedures established under Operation Mandalika Rinjani-2026.
“This security simulation is part of our joint efforts to create a sense of security in West Nusa Tenggara while supporting a positive international tourism climate. The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is an international championship, and its success requires the support and collaboration of all parties, including the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local governments, relevant stakeholders, and the community. Let us work together to ensure the success of this event and maintain West Nusa Tenggara as a safe and comfortable destination for both domestic and international tourists,” he said.
Security arrangements for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 will be implemented in three phases through separate operations. Operation Kresna Mandalika, conducted from September 19–27, 2026, involved 200 personnel, followed by Operation Cipta Mandalika from September 28 to October 4, 2026, involving 500 personnel. The final phase, Operation Mandalika Rinjani, will run from October 5–16, 2026, involving 2,678 personnel.
The simulation was part of the series of preparations for Operation Mandalika Rinjani-2026. A site inspection was conducted earlier on Saturday (September 26), followed by preliminary and final rehearsals on Sunday (September 27), before the main simulation took place on Monday (September 28).
ITDC, together with all stakeholders, continues to strengthen coordination and operational readiness across the area to ensure that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 runs safely and orderly, while delivering an optimal experience for riders, teams, spectators, media, and all parties involved.
