Balige, Lake Toba, 23 August 2025 - The F1H2O Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 in Lake Toba delivered intense competition during two Sprint Races held today, Saturday (23/8). These short 15-minute races served as a crucial warm-up ahead of the main Grand Prix, while also awarding additional points to the drivers.
Swedish driver Jonas Andersson of Team Sweden put on an impressive performance, completing 14 laps to take the top spot in Sprint Race1. He was followed closely by Rusty Wyatt (Sharjah Team/UAE) in second place and Ben Jelf (F1 Atlantic Team/GBR) in third.
Meanwhile, Sprint Race 2 was dominated by teams from the United Arab Emirates. Shaun Torrente (Victory Team) secured victory, with his teammate Alec Weckstrom finishing second, and Erik Stark (Team Abu Dhabi) taking third place. This result reinforced the strength of UAE teams in the second race.
Organizing Committee Chairman of The Lake Toba GP / Director Operations of ITDC, Troy Warokka, emphasized that today’s Sprint Races reflect the solid preparations for the event. “Today’s Sprint Races serve as a positive indicator of readiness. They show the strong commitment of the racers, organizers, and all supporting elements ahead of tomorrow’s Grand Prix. We hope this enthusiasm will carry through until the final race,” he stated.
With the additional points from the Sprint Races, the fight for the Grand Prix podium is set to become even tighter and more exciting over the weekend.
