The Mandalika, August 16, 2026 – The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, scheduled for October 9–11, 2026, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is once again offering opportunities for the people of NTB to participate directly in this world-class motorcycle racing event. A total of 2,500 volunteers are needed to support various operational functions, including marshals, crowd control, security, waste management, cleaning services, media center, ticketing, hospitality, and administration.
This opportunity is open through the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia Volunteer Open Recruitment for Indonesian citizens (WNI) residing in NTB, with no specific age restrictions. The recruitment process will be conducted through walk-in interviews from August 24–31, 2026, from 8:00–15:00 WITA (Central Indonesian Time), in the Dining Hall of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Interested residents can come directly to the location for an interview without needing to bring any special documents during the initial registration stage.
Troy Warokka, Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and Director of Operations at ITDC, stated that local community involvement is a crucial part of organizing the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at The Mandalika. Thousands of volunteers will be part of the organizing ecosystem, supporting various operational aspects throughout the event.
"The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia will not only present a world-class racing competition at The Mandalika, but also provide a space for the people of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to be directly involved in its implementation. We want this opportunity to provide valuable experience and knowledge to the community, while fostering a sense of ownership in the international event taking place in their region," said Troy.
To expand the reach of information to the surrounding community, recruitment campaigns were also conducted in 23 villages surrounding the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Coordination was carried out with village heads to ensure that information about volunteer opportunities could be disseminated more widely. Selected volunteers will receive a daily allowance, meals, a certificate, and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection through the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programs during their assignment.
Troy added that the involvement of local communities in the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 is expected to provide relevant experience for competency development, particularly in event organization, hospitality, visitor services, security, and media management.
"The involvement of these 2,500 volunteers also provides an opportunity to strengthen the capacity of local human resources. The experience of working in an international event ecosystem is expected to provide added value that they can take with them and utilize after the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026," he said.
Through local community involvement, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 is expected to not only have an impact during the event but also provide a space for the people of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to gain experience, knowledge, and capacity building. In line with the spirit of independence celebrated this August, the opportunity to participate in this international event is expected to be part of the contribution of the NTB community in demonstrating Indonesia's potential, spirit, and capabilities on the world stage.
