The Mandalika, 09 Agustus 2026 – PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of tourism human resources by hosting the InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) Mandalika (Batch I, 2026) at the Bilebante Green Tourism Village in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Held from August 5th to 7th, 2026, this event is part of the “Road to Petramina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026” and serves as an effort to prepare the local community to act as hosts capable of delivering excellent service to tourists.
Over the course of the three-day program, ITDC presented material designed to boost participants’ competence in providing professional, tourist-experience-oriented service. The training curriculum covered hospitality, effective communication, tourism awareness, and delivering heartfelt service to visitors.
This program focuses not only on enhancing individual skills but also aims to build a service culture capable of creating memorable tourism experiences. Through quality service, the community is expected to boost the destination’s competitiveness while simultaneously adding value to the local tourism sector.
Pari Wijaya, General Manager of The Mandalika, emphasized the importance of community readiness in delivering excellent service to tourists. “Sustainable destination development must go hand in hand with enhancing the quality of human resources. Through the InJourney Hospitality House, we aim to foster a strong culture of hospitality within the community, ensuring that every interaction with tourists creates a positive, memorable experience that encourages repeat visits. Ultimately, high-quality service will strengthen the destination’s competitiveness while gathering economic benefits for the local community,” Said Mr. Pari
The 2026 InJourney Hospitality House (Batch I) program involved 53 participants from the Bilebante Green Tourism Village, representing diverse backgrounds ranging from tour guides to homestay owners, tourism destination managers, to MSE operators, tailors, spa therapists, university students, homemakers, and entrepreneurs. This diversity reflects the effort to enhance service quality across the entire village tourism ecosystem.
The program’s uniqueness is also evident in the involvement of Malik Abdul Aziz—a resident of a village supporting The Mandalika who previously completed InJourney’s "Training of Trainers" (ToT) program and has now been entrusted to serve as a trainer himself. This approach demonstrates InJourney’s commitment to fostering community empowerment through a peer-to-peer knowledge transfer model.
Hj. Zainab, a training participant and driving force behind the Putri Rinjani MSME, stated, “This training broadened our perspective, showing us that hospitality is not merely about being friendly; it is also about understanding tourists’ needs and providing service that makes them feel comfortable. The material presented was highly relevant and can be immediately applied when serving tourists in our village. We hope the knowledge gained will help improve service quality while also showcasing the potential of our tourism village to a wider audience.”
The 2026 InJourney Hospitality House Program (Batch I) also receives support from the Central Lombok Regency Government through the Tourism Office and the Manpower and Transmigration Office, as well as the Pringgarata District and Bilebante Village governments. This synergy is expected to further strengthen the community’s readiness to provide quality service to tourists while simultaneously supporting the destination’s preparedness to host the 2026 Petramina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
Through the InJourney Hospitality House initiative, ITDC continues to strengthen its role in supporting sustainable destination development via community empowerment. In line with the company’s commitment, human resources capacity building serves as a crucial foundation for creating an inclusive and competitive tourism ecosystem capable of delivering high-quality tourism experiences across Indonesia’s various destinations.
